The purpose of this website is to inform current and future professional educators on the history of the document-based learning approach as well as on the value and development of document-based learning in non-AP history contexts. Based on examination of DBL research and resources, and on student feedback from a small case study on the DBL experience, this first phase of the project aims to inform current conceptions and future development of DBL materials and their implementation, and establish groundwork for future inquiry into the DBL approach to teaching history.
Use the buttons below to explore this site. If you are new to document-based learning, I suggest starting with the DBL resources. If you are a researcher, click through to the case study.
