My name is Miriam Roth, and I am a Secondary History and French Education double major at Hope College in Holland, MI. In the spring semester of 2016, my education coursework included a field placement in a tenth-grade United States History classroom, where I was able to conduct this case study with the support of my mentor teacher. I extend my most sincere thanks to him, and to his students, for allowing me to observe and study their classroom.
